It is from the year 728 when they find the trace of "Warangus", rechristened later "Gebliswilre".
In the course of Medium Age, the church and the graveyard, then the village were strengthened little by little. |

It is in 16th century, after numerous destruction between the 14th and the 15th century, that Gueberschwihr knew prosperity thanks to viticulture.

The Weck family, wine-growers since 1696.
From 1625, historical archives mention certain CONRAD WECK in Gueberschwihr.
But it is in 1650 when the family wins its letters of nobilities, with arrival at the head of the village, at MATHIAS WECK, "Schultheis", father of 24 children...
